Goa's tourism is not dependent on night clubs: Health Minister

Insisting that Goa's tourism does not depend only on night clubs, Health Minister disclosed that Tourism and Excise Departments are now monitoring all tourist spots to ensure adherence to safety norms. 

He was referring to the videos of revellers flouting Covid safety norms in nightclubs and high-end restaurants, which recently went viral.

“Night clubs are not the only thing that drives Goa’s tourism. Tourism has got restaurants, hinterland locations. There are multiple ways of marketing Goa’s tourism. I took this up with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The Home and Excise Departments are monitoring these spots now. Tourism should be encouraged but while keeping safety measures in mind,” the Health Minister announced.
