'Versius', Goa’s first robotic surgical system was launched in Panaji at the hands of the Health Minister. The launch was organised by Goa Robotic Surgery Centre in the presence of Dr Kedar Phadte, Dr Neeta Varti, Dr Shailesh, Revenue Minister and Taleigao MLA Jennifer Monserrate and Dean of Goa Medical College and Hospital Dr Bandekar.
UK-based medical devices company, CMR Surgical (CMR)’s 'Versius' surgical robotic system will now be operational at Goa Robotic Surgery Centre in Panaji.
Speaking at the launch, the Health Minister stated, “A robotic surgical system is an opportunity towards advances in today’s surgical environment. I congratulate the team for their advancement that will put Goa on the map for digital healthcare.”
He further said that technology and innovations in artificial intelligence are now playing a very important role in the field of healthcare.
“Precision in surgery is something that is crucial for a successful outcome. Through robotics, this precision is bound to enhance the success rate of surgeries,” the Health Minister added.
