Margao fire brigade rushed to Aquem in the wee hours of Tuesday after smoke was found billowing from a medical store.
The owner of the medical store, Sandesh Pai also rushed to the store after receiving calls from well wishers that the smoke is emanating from the premises.
After the store was opened, the fire fighters started the operation and managed to bring the fire under control.
Fire personnel later told the media that property worth around Rs 50,000 was lost in the fire.
