PANAJI: The top Opposition parties have put forward severaltheories to explain the sudden and inexplicable transfer of GoaGovernor Satya Pal Malik to Meghalaya.Congress president Girish Chodankar charged that the Governor wastransferred to avoid yet another embarrassment to CM following theunraveling of the alleged nexus between BJP and drugs mafia. Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat termed the transfer as“unfortunate” as Malik had made some very constructive suggestionsas to how to handle the Covid crisis. While MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar suspected the transfer waseffected after Malik stepped on the toes of some top BJP leaders, theAam Aadmi Party said it was more appropriate to say that theGovernor “got himself transferred after seeing the dismalperformance of the government in its Covid response”.
