Governor calls for study on Goa export business

Emphasis on improvement, exploring of new avenues to enhance growth

Goa governor P S Sreedharan Pillai has called for detailed analysis on export business in the state with emphasis on improvement and exploring of new avenues to enhance the growth of Goa.

“Export business in the State Goa has high prospects which would contribute more to the overall economic growth of the Country. There is a need for study on the improvement of export business in the State and exploring of new avenues of export thereby enhancing the growth of the State,” said Pillai.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the ‘Export Conclave Goa -2022’ organized by the Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO) in association with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry held at Dona Paula.

He appreciated the FIEO Western Region for organizing the Export Conclave in order to discuss various aspects of export sector and bottlenecks faced by the industries in exporting their products.

Chairman, GCCI Ralph de Souza expressed that hospitality industries too need to be provided with all the facilities and benefits that are made available for manufacturing units in the State, so that the hospitality business would flourish to a larger extent.

Chairman, FIEO Western Region Nandkishor Kagliwal informed about various functions of FIEO and facilities provided for Exporters and promotion of the export sector.

Vice President, FIEO Khalid Khan also spoke on the occasion. Directors, Department of Industries, Swetika Sachan, IAS was present on the occasion.

Director General, GCCI Sanjay Amonkar proposed the vote of thanks.
