Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant have extended warm New Year greetings to the people of Goa and Goans living across the world, wishing them peace, happiness and prosperity in 2026.
In his message, the Governor said that the New Year is a time for renewal, hope and fresh beginnings. He urged citizens to reflect on their shared journey, value Goa’s rich cultural heritage and renew their commitment to peace, harmony and collective progress. Calling upon the people to strive towards newer and greater goals, the Governor said that the coming year should be welcomed with confidence and a positive spirit. He expressed hope that 2026 would bring joy, peace and prosperity to every home and appealed for unity, dedication and a continued commitment to the welfare of society.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also conveyed his greetings to the people of the State and said he hoped that the New Year would usher in peace, prosperity, good health and happiness for every Goan. In his message, he appealed to citizens to continue supporting the government’s efforts in implementing welfare schemes and development initiatives across the State. He said public cooperation is vital to accelerate growth, strengthen public services and ensure that the benefits of development reach all sections of society.
Reaffirming the government’s resolve to build a resilient and progressive Goa, Sawant urged people to actively participate in the Swayampurna Goa mission and work towards greater self-reliance. He said the initiative seeks to empower individuals, communities and local bodies, promote sustainable livelihoods and improve the quality of life.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Goa’s legacy of peace and unity and called upon people to uphold traditions of religious harmony, mutual respect and social cohesion in the year ahead.
