Govt all set to finalise new building construction rules

In a bid to implement the amended Goa Land Development and Building Construction (Amendment) Regulations 2021 Act, the State government has invited people to submit suggestions and objections within 30 days for the finalisation of the draft regulation.

The draft regulations have been published in the Goa Gazette and will be taken into consideration by the government on expiry of a period of 30 days from the date of publication of the notification in the Official Gazette.

"All objections and suggestion to the said draft regulations may be forwarded to the Chief Town Planner (Administration) Town and country planning Department, 2nd floor Dempo Tower, Patto Plaza, before the expiry of the period of 30 days from the date of publication of the notification in the Official Gazette, so that they may be taken into consideration at the time of finalisation of the said draft regulation,” states the notice issued by James Mathew, Chief Town Planner (Administration) on July 6.

The draft regulations have incorporated inputs from the national code which covers fire safety provisions, concerns of persons with disabilities, etc.
