South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha on Thursday said that he had raised a host of issues plaguing the State in Parliament during the just-concluded Monsoon Session.
He further said that the Central government had deliberately sent Enforcement Directorate sleuths after the Congress leaders when the Parliament was in Session.
Addressing the media, the South Goa MP said he had highlighted a host of issues in Parliament during the just concluded session, including the issue of the illegal Old Goa structure. He demanded immediate demolition of the illegal structure when the Panchayat had issued the demolition order.
Sardinha further said that he had raised the issue of the controversial three-linear projects on the floor of Parliament. Besides, he said the issue of Goans not getting jobs in the Postal department and how Goan youth were denied jobs was raised in Parliament.
He pointed out that the contentious issue of mining was raised by him in Parliament, by highlight the plight of the thousands of workers who have been rendered unemployed after the closure of the mining activity.
“I had tabled as many as 30 questions in just concluded session, but I have received reply to only one starred questions. Many of the questions also could not come up since the members pressed for burning issues such as price rise and inflation which was affecting large sections of the society,” he said.
The MP has made a fervent plea to the people of Goa to give their suggestions and questions so that he can raise the issues in Parliament for redressal.
Sardinha has also made a plea to the Panchayat bodies to send their developmental proposals to him under the MPLA scheme soon after the new Sarpanchas assume office.
