Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said the State government has constituted the Sugarcane Farmers Facilitation Committee for Sanjivani Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd under the chairmanship of former MP Narendra Sawaikar to deal with various issues of related to the revival of the sugar factory.
Stating this to a group of sugarcane farmers from Sanguem on Thursday, Sawant assured the sugarcane farmers of resolving issues related to sugarcane harvesting and revival of the sugar factory.
The chief minister said he would chair a meeting of the Sugarcane Farmers Facilitation Committee in Panaji on November 3, to chalk out the future course of action.
Chief Minister expressed his enthusiasm to resolve the problems faced by sugarcane farmers related to harvesting of the crop.
The delegation which met the chief minister was led by former Sanguem MLA Vassudev Meng Gaonkar and Chairman of Kurdi VKSS Society Francisco Mascarenhas.
Meanwhile, the Sanguem MLA and Sanjivani Bachao Samitti have convened a meeting of sugarcane farmers on November 1 at 10 am in the Ganpati Mandap at Vaddem Colony 1 to discuss various issues related to the sugar factory.
