Govt introduces bill to amend land use

PANAJI

Revenue Minister Atanasio Monserrate introduced ‘The Goa Land Use (Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 2024’ on Monday to permit local bodies and educational institutions to utilize tenanted land for community projects.

With the amendment of Section 3 of the Act 1991, which aims to establish a project for the community or public purpose, the Bill seeks to enable local authorities like Village Panchayat, Municipal Council, and Municipal Corporation to use land vested in tenants.In a separate Bill presented by Minister for Transport Mauvin Godinho, ‘The Goa Motor Vehicles Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024,’ has been introduced to repeal the ordinance with changes in tax at the time of registration of new vehicles.
