The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday told the State Legislative Assembly that the government has initiated a process to complete 99.49 per cent of the assurances made in the State Budget 2023-24, while two projects have been dropped.
Sawant said that of the total 390 announcements made in the last budget, 105 assurances, which is around 26.92 per cent, were completed in the very same financial year.
He said that in case of 164 assurances, the process for its implementation or completion has been initiated and the same will be completed in the coming financial year.
Further, in case of 30.51 per cent Budget promises (119), though the process has been taken up for its implementation, the same is expected to be completed in the subsequent years.
He was responding to the joint question put up by the Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Congress MLA Altone D’Costa, AAP MLAs Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva and RGP MLA Viresh Borkar.
As per the reply, while two projects proposed in 2023-24 were dropped, the State decided not to go ahead with six projects as announced in 2022-23 budget. “We might have found these projects not feasible and hence decided to drop it,” he said.
