The State government appointed panel to formulate the Goa State Cooperation Policy 2025, has invited suggestions and views from the public for framing of the policy with focus on strengthening the cooperative movement in the State.
The department of Cooperation informed that the drafting of the policy is in alignment with the National Cooperation Policy 2025.
The Committee under the Chairmanship of NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar, held its first meeting on Tuesday, wherein it was decided to invite suggestions and views from the general public for framing the policy.
Accordingly, the department has requested the general public to provide their valuable suggestions, views or insights for framing State Cooperative Policy 2025. The suggestions, view or insights may be submitted to the Department on or before November 25, 2025 either in person or via E-mail: [email protected].
The National Cooperative Policy 2025 has been uploaded on the departmental portal for the information of the public.
The decision to draft the policy was taken following a directive from the ministry of cooperation in July this year.
The committee has to recommend policy measures for strengthening the cooperative movement in Goa with emphasis on innovation, digitalisation, inclusivity, and sustainability. It has to accordingly submit the draft policy by December 2026.
The other members include the secretary for cooperation, registrar of cooperative societies, director of agriculture, director of animal husbandry and veterinary services, president of the GCCI, general manager of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard), and president of Sahakar Bharati.
