Town planners and deputy town planners manning responsibilities stipulated in the Town and Country Planning Act have been reshuffled between various planning areas and the planning and development authorities.
Vertika Dagur who officiated as member-secretary of Mormugao PDA in Vasco has been shifted as member-secretary of South Goa PDA in Margao. Vinod Kumar Chandra, will take her place at the Mormugao PDA. Sandip P Surlakar, who is deputy town planner and manned the TCP department’s North Goa District Office at Mapusa is shifted to the Ponda taluka office. Anand Deshpande, who was deputy town planner and posted at the headquarters in Panaji has been transferred to the Pernem taluka Office. He will also hold an additional charge Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).
K Ashok Kumar, hitherto the member-secretary of the
South Goa PDA, has been shifted to the Quepem taluka office and will also hold additional charge of Canacona office.
Prakash P Bandodkar, the deputy town planner who held the additional charge of Pernem taluka office will now man the Mapusa TCP office.
Meanwhile, deputy town planners R N Volvoikar, has been transferred from the TCP department’s headquarters to the Bicholim taluka office and Sanjay Halornekar, the deputy town planner in Ponda has been brought to the headquarters in Panaji.
Ritesh Shirodkar, the deputy town planner has been shifted from the South Goa district office at Margao to the headquarters in Panaji. Also, Manguirish Verenkar the deputy town planner who held charge of both the Quepem and Canacona TCP office will take the place of Shirodkar at the South Goa district office in Margao.

Dhavalikar’s kin gets service extension
Granting extension of service to officers beyond their age of superannuation may be a tricky issue which generally earns the government flak but it did not deter the Pramod Sawant-led government to grant a one-year extension to Deelip Dhavalikar, superintending engineer at the PWD.
Deelip Dhavalikar, interestingly is the brother of former Deputy Chief Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, who was unceremoniously sacked from the cabinet by Sawant last year. The former is currently serving as General Manager, on deputation, at the Sewerage & Infrastructural Development Corporation of Goa Limited, where he will continue for another year.
The government, meanwhile, has also extended by another year the term of Sharad G Marathe, asOmbudsman to redress service related issues of government servants in Goa.
