The State government has notified the implementation of a single-file system for the Directorate of Public Grievances, thus declaring closure of public grievance department at Porvorim.
According to the notification issued, all the staff of the department of public grievance, Porvorim will be posted at the department’s head office in Panaji.
Also, the director of public grievances will be declared ex-officio joint secretary/additional secretary to the government.
“Government is pleased to introduce a Single File System in the Directorate of Public Grievances, Panaji by declaring the “Director of Public Grievances” as “Ex-Officio Additional/Joint Secretary to the Government”, with immediate effect, whereby the existing Department of Public Grievances at Secretariat shall cease to exist,” the notification stated.
“Consequently, all secretarial work would be handled by the head of department declared as ex-official joint/additional secretary,” it mentioned further.
The implementation will also involve all files originating from the directorate. Then, after obtaining orders from the secretary or minister concerned, the files would return to the head of department for execution.
The ex-officio joint/additional secretary will be assisted by one section officer, two assistants, one junior assistant and one MTS from the directorate. The under-secretary of the department of public grievances will no longer hold charge in this department.
“The officer/officials shall be under the direct administrative control of the officer who has been declared as Ex-officio Additional/Joint Secretary and shall form part of his personal staff,” the notification stated.
