The State government on Wednesday has given a go-ahead to the Goa Clinical Establishment Regulation Rule 2021, making it mandatory for all private hospitals, nursing homes and clinics to register with the Directorate of Health Services (DHS).
The State cabinet has also granted approval to amend the Agricultural Tenancy Act, through which the government will bear 90 percent of the cost for the repair of the bundhs.
“The State cabinet has passed the Goa Clinical Establishment Regulation Rule 2021, making it mandatory for all hospitals, nursing homes, etc to register with the Directorate of Health of Services,” said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, while briefing the media after the cabinet meeting.
He said all medical establishments have to follow certain norms and the Goa Clinical Establishment Regulation Rule 2021 was in line with the Government of India direction.
It may be recalled, the Goa Clinical Establishments (registration and regulation) Act was passed in the State assembly in 2019.
However, it could not be implemented because the government was yet to frame the rules under it.
The government has also introduced an ordinance to the amendment of the Goa Daman and Diu Agricultural Tenancy Act 1964 for building of bundhs giving relief to the farmers.
The chief minister informed that the decision to amend the act was taken keeping the interest of farmers in mind.
“Earlier, the cost of repair of bundhs was shared equally by the government and the respective tenants association. With the new amendment, the government will bear 90 percent of the cost while the tenants association will have to shell out the balance 10 percent,” Sawant said.
In another decision, the government has appointed Justice Nutan Sardessai as the chairperson of the State Police Complaints Authority.
