Govt to highlight Three Kings Feast to give boost to tourism

PANAJI

The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and the Department of Tourism will promote and celebrate the Three Kings Feast, a treasured Goan tradition deeply rooted in the region’s cultural heritage. Dr Ganesh Gaonkar, Chairman of GTDC, made the announcement during a press conference held on 20 December at Paryatan Bhavan.

The Three Kings Feast will take place on 6 January 2025 in the scenic villages of Cansaulim, Chandor, and Reis de Magos. The event promises a mix of spiritual and cultural experiences, including special church services and vibrant festivities that reflect Goa’s unique traditions.

Dr Gaonkar highlighted that the Feast follows the conclusion of the Saint Francis Xavier Exposition on 5 January 2025. Tourists visiting for the Exposition can seamlessly extend their stay to experience the Three Kings Feast at any of the three locations. He emphasised that these back-to-back events provide a holistic cultural and spiritual experience, further solidifying Goa’s appeal as a destination that honours its heritage.

GTDC has launched an extensive promotional campaign to create awareness and maximise participation in the Three Kings Feast. Dr Gaonkar explained that this effort includes a strong online presence through social media platforms and tourism websites. The campaign will feature videos, testimonials, and interactive content to highlight the Feast’s significance. Additionally, collaborations with travel influencers and bloggers will help reach diverse audiences by sharing authentic experiences.

To enhance the visitor experience, GTDC is partnering with local hotels and travel agencies to offer special feast packages, providing seamless and immersive access to Goa’s cultural richness. Dr Gaonkar also announced plans to engage local and international media, inviting them to cover the event to ensure wide visibility in travel publications and news outlets globally.

Dr Gaonkar urged both locals and tourists to attend the Feast in large numbers, underlining its importance in preserving Goa’s traditions and showcasing its rich cultural legacy.

Special Republic Day packages announced

In addition to the Three Kings Feast, GTDC will introduce special packages for the Republic Day celebrations on 26 January 2025. Dr Gaonkar announced that curated packages at GTDC residencies and hotels will be available, encouraging visitors to stay and participate in the festive Republic Day events. These packages aim to provide a memorable holiday experience during the season.
