On Wednesday, the Goa government announced plans to explore Israeli water conservation techniques to improve water management, particularly for irrigation.
Minister for Water Resources, Subhash Shirodkar, stated that the State will need to adopt methods similar to those used in Israel, where cutting-edge innovations have helped the country become a world leader in water management.
“Goa has enough water reserves, but with development and a growing population, we need to focus on water conservation and explore how we can tap into more water bodies to meet our future needs, especially for our farmers… for irrigation purposes… what Israel has done, we too can follow,” he said.
