Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the State government would soon start telemedicine services in the State through which the people could seek tele-consultations with the GMC doctors.
Sawant made the statement after inaugurating the Ribandar Primary Health Centre on Saturday in the presence of the health minister, Panaji MLA Babush Monserratte and others.
“Very soon, we are starting a telemedicine services in the health department. Through this, people can have tele-consultation with the GMC which is the apex hospital in Goa. This will help reduce the number of patients visiting GMC,” Sawant informed.
“Post-Covid facilities are also started in GMC to treat post-Covid complications,” Sawant stated and appealed to people to avail benefits of the same.
“Under ‘Health for All’, the government is committed to providing best of health facilities to Goans right from Pernem to Canacona,” he added.
Speaking on the Ribandar Primary Health Centre, Sawant said this is the first health centre which is integrated with Dental College, GMC and health services with all services available including round the clock STEMI.
“Such STEMI services are being made available in many areas,” said Sawant, stated while adding that a 108 ambulance will also be stationed here.
The health minister said the round the clock STEMI services will help in to deal with any cardiac event or cardiac emergency.
“Doctors from dental, GMC will be posted here and it will have full-fledged facilities including 2D echocardiography machine, mobile X-Ray unit and ultrasound,” he said.
“This will be the first health centre where the Dental College, Goa Medical College as well as Health Services are all integrated and working in unified fashion because of initiative taken by MLA Babush Monserrate.
“All of this could be possible because of support and free hand given by Chief Minister and also the vision of Monserrate who has refurbished the place at his own expense and we are grateful to him,” he said.
During the occasion, Sawant also flagged off the 108 ambulance services dedicated exclusively for the health centre.
