Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has said the State government would definitely benefit from the experience of former chief minister Digambar Kamat and former speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, who were inducted as ministers on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons, Dhavalikar praised both Digambar Kamat and Tawadkar for their political and social work. “Kamat has been getting elected continuously for nearly three decades and has also held the top post of chief minister, besides leading various departments. Our government will definitely benefit from his vast expertise,” said Dhavalikar.
“Tawadkar is a leader who has emerged from the ST community through his hard work and social movement. The chief minister has taken the right decision in giving him a ministerial post for the second time.”
Commenting on Tawadkar’s Shram Dham scheme, Dhavalikar said every MLA is trying his best to build houses for the poor.
“But while some representatives think only of their constituencies, Tawadkar has gone outside his constituency and built houses for the poor across the State,” said Dhavalikar.
“Wherever there has been a need in any part of Goa, he has provided shelter to people through the Shram Dham scheme. There is no better virtue like providing shelter to a poor person. The poor will never forget the goodness of a person who provides them with shelter.”
