Govt will import beef in case there’s shortage, says Goa Forward

While reiterating its stand against any ban on the eating habits of the people of Goa, the Goa Forward Party on Monday said the government will import beef if there’s any shortage of the meat in the State.

MARGAO:
“Our stand is very clear that there ought to be no ban on the eating habits of the people. If someone wants to have beef or pork, let them have. If someone wants to dress in a particular manner, he or she is free to do so,” asserted Goa Forward general secretary Mohandas Lolienkar.
He told the media that the government will go to the extent of importing beef if there is any shortage of the meat in the State. ‘We will discuss with the government to ensure that beef is available to the people of Goa,” he said.
Party chief spokesperson Prashant Naik said that there cannot be any restrictions on the eating habits of the people.
, warning that the people of Goa will teach a befitting lesson to those who want to foist their agenda on the people. “No one can dictate on the eating habits of the people. This will not work in Goa. Our eating habits are different,” he said, warning that people of Goa will not tolerate ‘dadagiri’ by anyone who want to impose their agenda on the people.
