PORVORIM

The Porvorim Welfare Foundation (PWF) has claimed that while the Porvorim police recently busted a call centre operating at Verem, they allegedly have been unable to initiate similar action against four such call centres operating in Porvorim.

Addressing a news conference in Porvorim, PWF Chairman Vikas Prabhu Dessai alleged that these call centres are operating with the blessings of politicians and hence, police have not taken action against those call centres so far.

“Prostitution and massage parlours have flourished at Porvorim due to inaction by police,” he said.

Prabhu Dessai also alleged that gambling activities have also been going on in Porvorim.

“Video footage of this activity will be submitted to the police and PWF will expose these activities shortly,” said Dessai.
