Speaking to the media on Saturday, AIMA National Vice President Ravishankar T informed that the AIMA Goa has made arrangements to send relief materials collected from Goa by special helicopters with the support of Indian Navy, Mormugao Port Trust, the Central government and Kerala government.

“It has also been decided to collect funds for the flood relief operations of the Kerala government and we appeal to organisations and institutions wishing to send the materials to contact AIMA Goa unit officials.”

“Due to the sad and pathetic conditions of Kerala and the sufferings of people, it was also decided to cancel the Onam celebrations 2018 scheduled for September 2,” he added.

He informed that food packets, drinking water, clothes, sanitary napkins etc. are also being rushed to the affected areas.

“Those who wish to dispatch the collected materials may please contact AIMA Goa office bearers. The first lot will be sent immediately,” said Ravishankar.
