Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that the BJP’s focus on public welfare, development and the upliftment of all sections of society has strengthened people’s trust in the party in Goa and across the country.
He was speaking at a BJP workers’ convention in Sanquelim held to announce the BJP Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha committees for the Sanquelim constituency.
Sawant said several welfare schemes introduced by the Central Government have benefited millions of people across the country and added that the State government has implemented these schemes effectively in Goa.
“I was given the opportunity to serve as Chief Minister seven years ago. Even while holding this post, I have remained grounded. I will continue to serve the people humbly as their public servant,” he said.
The Chief Minister said the government has worked continuously to solve people’s problems while pushing development in
all sectors.
“Major development works have been carried out in education, healthcare, infrastructure, women’s empowerment, youth employment, social welfare, farmer welfare and tourism,” he said.
Sawant described party workers as the real strength of the BJP.
“It is because of their hard work and dedication that the party has achieved success. BJP has expanded across the country and formed governments in several states. In the coming years too, BJP governments will continue at the Centre and in the State,” he said.
On the occasion, Sairaj Gawas was appointed president of the BJP Yuva Morcha for Sankhali constituency, while Nandini Gawas was appointed president of the Mahila Morcha.
Others present included Sulakshana Sawant, former MP Vinay Tendulkar, North Goa BJP President Dayanand Karbotkar, Mahila Morcha President Aarti Bandodkar, Mandal President Rama Naik, Swati Maindkar, Subhash Malekar, Rajan Phalakar, Siddhi Prabhu and other BJP office-bearers.
Newly appointed Yuva Morcha President Sairaj Gawas thanked the party for the responsibility and said he would work to strengthen the organisation under the Chief Minister’s guidance.
