Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has said that goods-and-services-tax (GST) will be a boon for consumers, traders and also for the state. Parrikar also mentioned that consumers will gain because prices will come down in the long run thanks to GST.

the goan I networkrPANAJIrrHe said, “Eating out will become cheaper due to GST. Earlier, there was 9% service tax and 12.5% value-added-tax (VAT), which, put together, was 21.5%. Under GST, this tax burden has been reduced to 18%.” rParrikar also said that cost due to corruption and cost of operation will come down due to GST. He continued, “I am expecting a growth of 25-30% in revenues (tax collections) because of GST.” rParrikar concluded by saying, “GST will be an economic boost to the nation and rto Goa.”
Asserting that “one country, one tax” is one of the historic decisions taken since Independence, Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah on Saturday said the implementation of GST could cause some problems in the initial phase, but in time to come India will become the seventh powerful economically stable country in the world.
