Asserting that “one country, one tax” is one of the historic decisions taken since Independence, Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah on Saturday said the implementation of GST could cause some problems in the initial phase, but in time to come India will become the seventh powerful economically stable country in the world.

Shah is on two-day visit to the State to meet party leaders to draw up a strategy for the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. rShah was given a traditional welcome at Dabolim airport. Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida and Mormugao Municipal Council Chairperson Deepak Naik garlanded Shah. rUnion Minister for Ayush Shripad Naik, South Goa MP Adv Narendra Sawaikar, MP Bhupendra Yadav, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, State BJP President Vinay Tendulkar, Mormugao MLA Milind Naik, Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, former chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar, former panchayat minister Rajendra Arlekar, former industries minister Mahadev Naik and panchas of Chicalim and Bogmalo were also present at the airport. rSpeaking touched more on the subject of Goods and Service Tax. He thanked all the states which had passed GST-related laws. Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power, he has introduced many new things,” Shah said. r“With GST, businessmen, industrialists and small businessmen will benefit and they will get freedom from ‘licensing and inspection raj’,” Shah added. Shah has appealed to the people to beware of those who create fear and confusion in their minds.
