Maddani area will be beautified with annual festival

Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairman and Saligao MLA Kedar Naik has stated that the Savlem Lake in Pilerne will be beautified and developed as a tourist spot by the GTDC, in response to a suggestion of Pilerne Comunidade.
Naik also informed that Maddani area in Pilerne will also be beautified and a festival will be organised annually.
He was speaking at Pilerne after laying the foundation stone for the Panchayat Ghar and a Community Ghar. ZP member Sandeep Bandodkar, Pilerne-Marra Sarpanch Reshma Bandodkar, Dy Sarpanch Ajay Govekar, Chairman of Village Development committee Karan Govekar and panch members of Pilerne-Marra were present on this occasion.
Naik stated that the panchayat Ghar and community hall will be constructed by Goa State Infrastructural Development Corporation at a cost of Rs 20 crore.
“The Panchayat Ghar will be ground plus one building and it will have shops on the ground floor and the panchayat office on the first floor. Shops will be allotted to farmers who have donated their fields for the Panchayat Ghar,” said Naik.
“The Community Hall will be constructed by the side of the Panchayat and it will have seating capacity of 1,000 people. The rent for the community hall will be 50 per cent of normal charges for residents of Pilerne and Marra to be decided by the Panchayat body. The contractor has been advised to complete the community hall within one year.”
The ZP Sandeep Bandodkar and Dy Sarpanch Ajay Govekar also spoke on this occasion.
Earlier, a ‘Bhumi Poojan’ was done by Ajit Govekar and the foundation stone was later laid by Kedar Naik.
