Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho convened a joint meeting with airport officials and GTDC to resolve long-pending issues concerning Black-Yellow taxi operators. Those present at the meeting included Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, GTDC Chairman Nilesh Cabral, Airport Senior manager Gagan Mallik, Mormugao DySP Mormugao Lawrence D'Souza and other officials.

at taxi operators will be provided counters at the airport through the GTDC," said Godinho, while speaking to reporters.
"The taxi operators wanted a direct agreement with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) but that would have to be done via auction. Since they are operating since the existence of the airport, AAI will allocate the counter to GTDC and in turn, the GTDC will further allot this counter to the Black-Yellow taxi operators," Godinho added.
According to Godinho, an agreement will be signed between the AAI and GTDC and later, the GTDC will then sign an agreement with the Black-Yellow taxi operators and allot a counter for taxi operators through GTDC.
Another major issue discussed was unused multi-level taxi parking at Dabolim airport.
"I have been given to understand that the multi-level taxi parking will be operational from April 2018. The AAI has informed me that some safety aspects have to be addressed and necessary steps to comply with safety aspects have been taken," Godinho told reporters.
Mallik said he looked forward to make the experience of passengers using Dabolim Airport extremely enjoyable and absolutely trouble-free.
"We are keen to resolve all major issues and I want that holidays should begin the moment passengers land at this airport," added Mallik. He also advised taxi operators to maintain discipline at the airport.
