MARGAO
As the controversy over the traditional celebration of the Lord Dambab’s Gulalutsav at Zambaulim refuses to die down, President of Mathagramasth Hindu Samaj, Margao has on Tuesday said the difference of opinion between the MHS and the Zambaulim temple committee can be resolved by taking a joint prasad from Lord Dambab.
Briefing the media on Tuesday after the meeting of the MHS Monday night, President of the Sabha Bhai Naik said the meeting has taken a decision that both the MHS and the Zambaulim temple committees should resolve the difference of opinion on the holding of the Gulal at Zambaulim by taking a join prasad from Lord Dambab.
“We have made an offer to the Zambaulim temple committee that both the parties should take the joint prasad from Lord Dambab to avoid confusion on the nature and extent of Gulal festivities that should be held at Zambaulim due to the COVID pandemic,” Bhai said, adding that he hoped that the Zambaulim temple committee will accept the offer from the MHS.
The Zambaulim temple committee had taken decisions to hold the Zambaulim Gulal on a low key in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions on celebrations laid down by the government.
The committee in its last communique had withdrawn the offer of partial celebration of Shigmo at Zambaulim following comments made by HMS President Bhai Naik.
