Governor, P.S. Shreedharan Pillai along with First Lady of Goa Rita Shreedharan Pillai visited Shree Siddhanath Parvat, Borim in Ponda Taluka on Satuday.
On his arrival at Subhash Shirodkar, Minister for Water Resources welcomed the Governor. Others present were Shyam Prabhu Dessai, President, Shree Navdurga Devasthan, Jayesh Naik, Sarpanch and others.
After offering prayers at Shree Siddhanath Devasthan situated at Siddhanath Parvat the Governor witnessed the scenic beauty of the Siddheshwar Parvat. Sanjeev Sardessai, noted historian apprised the Governor the history and other details of the Siddheshwar Parvat and temple.
Earlier, the Governor visited Shree Navdurga Devasthan at Borim and offered prayers to deity Navdurga. And then the Governor visited Shree Kamleshwar temple.
M. R. M. Rao, IAS, Secretary to Governor, Sanjeev C. Gauns Dessai, Add. Secretary to Governor and Mihir Vardhan, Special Officer were present during his visit.
The Governor, who is very much attracted and concerned about nature informed that he is very much interested in visiting the selected mountains in Goa, which will be undertaken shortly.
Speaking further, the Governor said Goa has a rich heritage and culture and added that Raj Bhavan will publish a special edition based on his visits to such mountains in the form of a book.
The Governor also mentioned that, in his new book historical, cultural and environmental aspects will be reflected.
