From a bike rally to hoisting the national tricolour on madrassas and masjids, the State unit of BJP has planned a host of programmes to mark the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Indian Independence.
With the help of various party organisations (morchas), the BJP has decided to launch a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ blitzkrieg in all the 40 constituencies by unfurling the national flag on houses, gyms & sports clubs, farmers clubs, dairy societies and even on the statues of Dr B R Ambedkar around the State.
State BJP’s Minority Morcha, President Haider Shah said a discussion will be held with the minority community and accordingly the national tricolour will be unfurled on various madrassas and masjids in the State.
“There is a sense of disquiet among a majority of the minorities when it comes to BJP. I don’t think the BJP is a communal party. We will consult with our community and for the first time we are going to hoist the national flag on madrasas and masjids,” Shah said.
The State BJP’s Minority Morcha, President along with the representatives of various other morchas was addressing the media in the party office on BJP’s plan to hold various programmes to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
According to BJP Yuva Morcha, President, Samir Mandrekar, the youth will organise a bike rally which will have a participation of 75 bikes and cover a distance of 75 kilometres on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence.
He also said that the yuva morcha has taken upon the task of distributing 6000 national flags to the general public.
“We will set up canopies outside the party offices in Mapusa, Panaji and Margao where the flags will be made available. People can buy the flags from these places,” Mandrekar said.
He further informed that the tricolour will be hoisted on the premises of various youth-related organisations such as sports clubs, gyms and playgrounds.
“I request the Goan youth to come out and participate in the programme to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with great flourish,” he said.
Similarly, BJP’s Mahila Morcha President Arti Bandodkar informed that the mahilas in every constituency will coordinate with the booth in-charge and try to unfurl the national flag in every house.
Besides holding several other programmes, she said the mahilas will organise a booster dose camp at 75 places on the occasion of India’s 75th anniversary of Independence.
The BJP’s Kisan Morcha President, Vasudev Gaonkar said that the chairman and members of the various dairy societies will get together and unfurl the tricolour on their premises.
He said they have also organised a programme to hoist the national flag at various farmers clubs and agriculture-related societies.
Siddesh Pednekar, President of BJP Schedule Caste Morcha has said that various statues of Dr B R Ambekar will be cleaned and the national tricolour will be unfurled near the statue. He also said a padyatra will be held wherever there is a large concentration of the Schedule Caste community.
BJP Schedule Tribe Morcha President, Anthony Barboza and OBC Morcha President Girish Uskaikar also spelled their plans in celebrating the platinum jubilee of India’s Independence.
