The Bombay High Court at Goa on Tuesday permitted Shripad alias Paresh Sinai Sawardekar to approach the trial court to seek relaxation of his bail condition which prevented him from travelling outside the state.

Sawardekar, who was booked and arrested by the Police for having drunk his Mercedes SUV allegedly under the influence of alcohol killing three people including a senior couple riding a two-wheeler and another at the Banastarim bridge in August last year.

Sawardekar was finally granted bail by the High Court which imposed several conditions one of which stated that he was “not to leave the State of Goa without the permission of the Trial Court.”

Sawardekar has now approached the High Court seeking modification of the condition in order to travel outside the state.

The High Court instead directed him to withdraw the present application and “to approach the learned Trial Court for the relief that is sought in the present application.”

“If such an application is filed, the Trial Court shall consider it on its own merit and decide it as early as possible,” the High Court single judge bench of Bharat Deshpande, said.
