The Bombay High Court at Goa has quashed the summons issued by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the case registered against him back in 2017 for alleged violation of the model code of conduct.
According to AAP state chief Amit Palekar, the High Court quashed the summons issued to Delhi CM by the JMFC Mapusa. The Election Commission had registered a complaint at Mapusa police station in the year 2017 for violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Kejriwal allegedly told a political rally that voters should accept cash if being distributed by other political parties but vote for the AAP.
The High Court has referred the matter back to the JMFC after finding that the relevant provisions of law were not adhered to before the summons were issued.
