HC status quo in Arossun resort case

CORTALIM: The Panaji Bench of Bombay High Court has ordered a status quo till May 5, on the order of the District and Sessions Court, Margao, pertaining to Goa State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) license of Competent Automobiles for a resort at Arossim.

It may be recalled that the District and Sessions Court had vacated its stay on April 23, and had given 3 weeks time for preferring an appeal against its order.

Adv Nigel da Costa Frias appeared for Cansaulim-Arossim-Cuelim Panchayat, Adv Ryan Menezes appeared for Cansaulim-Arossim-Cuelim Civic and Consumer Forum and Cansaulim Villagers Action Committee who are the petitioners, while senior counsel Dhruv Mehta appeared for the hotelier.
