Health scheme 2.0 gets a new start

PANAJIrrTill date under DDSSY, more than two lakh cards have been issued which has covered a population of over 7.5 lakh. Additionally, 9800 procedures have been conducted. rAs per the guidelines issued by the Public Health Department, existing card holders have to visit the DDSSY centre only after they receive the SMS for renewal with their DDSSY as well as AADHAR cards. While the annual renewal fee for a family of three and less members is Rs 200, for a family of four and above it is Rs 300. rNonetheless, a concession of 50 per cent for the renewal fee would be considered subject to appropriate documentation towards OBC or non-creamy layer, SC, ST and differently-abled eligible persons. r“The scheme is completing one year on August 31 and hence we have appealed to the public to renew their DDSSY cards for further benefit. To make it convenient for the beneficiaries, the renewal cards will be issued to the existing card holders at the centre itself when they come for renewal”, informed an official. r“Over 9,000 people have availed of the 447 procedures under the scheme. Additionally, of these, the claims of over 7000 beneficiaries amounting to over Rs 25 crore have already been disbursed. GEL currently has 19 centres across the State which may be increased in the days to come”, he said.
