Health scheme to be revisited

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has agreed to revisit the implementation of the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana after reports emerged that the insurance company had failed to clear bills of hospitals.

19 hospitals complained that while the premium amount was paid to the insurance company, the company failed to disburse the amount to the hospitals leading to consternation among the private service providers.   
In this regard the Directorate of Health Services has called for a meeting to mediate between the warring hospitals and the insurance company in a bid to thrash out issues.
The scheme is aimed at providing quality health medical care to people.

CANACONA: According to sources, Palolem beach is worst affected as several tourists turn back after finding no accommodation at the beach. Those involved in tourism business claim that they are simply unable to provide accommodation, while authorities are refusing to issue NOCs. There are allegations from tourists that rentals in some hotels along Canacona’s coast are as high as Rs 4,500, prompting most to leave for other destinations for an overnight stay.…
