Stating that Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) is one family, Vasco MLA and KTCL Chairman Carlos Almeida has assured to take an initiative to provide a helpline to families of KTC drivers and staff to address any grievances.
“Plans are also afoot to interact with families of drivers so that their stress levels can be reduced,” said Almeida.
He was addressing the KTCL Vasco Depot safety week programme on the theme “Driving Faster Can Cause Disaster.” Mormugao DySP Sunita Sawant was the chief guest at the programme.
“Very soon, I will have a number provided to the families of drivers and staff. Many times, families are stressed at home or with issues involving the staff. I will get in touch with families and also tell them to report issues, like
staff coming home drunk or other grievances,”
Almeida said.
“Today, we have young staff and we have to take care of them. They are prone to high stress levels and diseases like diabetes as a result.”
Speaking on the occasion, DySP Sunita Sawant urged the KTC drivers not to use mobile phones while driving.
