Saying that Goa has benefited immensely on the infrastructure front during the tenure of the BJP double engine government, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said a high speed train running between Pernem and Canacona will soon become a reality in the state.
The Chief Minister further asserted that the BJP will never change the Constitution, accusing the Congress for amending the Constitution on more than 50 times during its 50 year old rule.
The Chief Minister was addressing party Active Members Sammelan held in the city here on Tuesday, which was attended by party leaders, including state Party president Damu Naik, Union Minister Sripad Naik, Ministers Mauvin Godinho and Subhash Shirodkar, MLAs Digambar Kamat, Krishna Salkar, Ganesh Gaonkar, Nilesh Cabral, Ulhas Tuemkar, Sankalp Amonkar, former Ministers Chandrakant Kavlekar, Manohar Ajgaonkar, Margao Municipal Chairperson Damu Shirodkar, Couincilors and others.
In his address, the Chief Minister pointed out that Goa has made rapid strides in all sectors, including health, infrastructure, education etc over the last one decade. “Travel time form Patravadi in North and Polem in South has come down drastically due to the upgradation and expansion of the National highways. Soon, we will have road network in place in the Port town of Vasco. All this development could take place before the initiative and support of the BJP government at the centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, he said.
The Chief Minister underscored the need for the party leaders and worker to fan out across the state with the report card and explain the various schemes implemented in Goa till date.
Union Minister Sripad Naik said the state as well as the country has witnessed rapid progress in infrastructure development in the last one decade.
BJP State president Damu Naik said that Goa has seen rapid infrastructure development in the last one decade during the stint of the double engine government. He urged the party cadres to go the people and explain the schemes that have been brought by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and implemented by the state government.
