Hindi fortnight concludes at MPT
PANAJI: The Hindi fortnight organised by Mormugao Port Trust concluded witha function at which Member of Parliament Adv Narendra Sawaikar was the chief guest.
He said Hindi is a constitutional binding on us and we should observe these Hindi days throughout the year. "Not only Hindi but popular words of other languages be it Konkani, Tamil, Malayalam or Bengali may also be used in the larger interest of national integration."
He said he was glad that MPT is now making profits and contributing to the development of the State.”
Deputy chairman of MPT, G P Rai stressed upon the officers to use Hindi in day-to-day lives.
Secretary J B Dhawale, Dy secy (IR), Rajendra Singh and Roshan Komarpant also spoke on the occasion. A Hindi annual magazine Goyen Port Darpan was also released.
The Rajbhasha Rolling Shield 2015-16 was awarded to the Finance department of MPT. Nilam Kenkre, Hindi officer compered the function and Rose Jeba Kumari, senior clerk proposed the vote of thanks.
