Panaji: Panaji Police have arrested Chandrakant Krishna Kenavdekar, 65, in connection with a theft near Fernandes Bakery, Bhatlem, Panaji, during the wee hours of Thursday morning.
In a press note issued today, North Goa SP Rahul Gupta stated the accused was apprehended after a complaint by Top Bahadur K.C., who reported that between 11 pm on June 4 and 5:30 am on June 5, an unknown male entered his rented room and stole a mobile phone valued at Rs 10,000 and a bag containing Rs 9,000 cash.
Following investigation and analysis of CCTV footage, the stolen items were recovered from Kenavdekar’s possession.
SP Gupta added that the accused is a history-sheeter with previous cases registered against him at Old Goa Police Station.
