A 14-year-old girl student from St. Anthony's High School, Monte de Guirim, died after being allegedly hit by a hockey ball on the school playground this morning. The student was immediately rushed to District Hospital, Mapusa for treatment where she succumbed to her injuries.
The student identified as Ruisha Sudhir Carles was practicing hockey along with other students when the mishap occurred. Today was their last day of the practice session, as per details shared by Saligao MLA Kedar Naik.
Naik expressed grief on the teenager’s death stating she was a very bright student in academics as well as sports.
I have called PI on the matter and post mortem will be conducted," he said. A formal statement from the school is awaited while also police are yet to release any update.
