The Goa government on Wednesday declared holiday for its employees and the educational institutions on the day of Ram Temple consecration, January 22.
Addressing media persons, Sawant said that Ram Temple ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at Ayodhya should be celebrated like Diwali and hence the government has decided to declare holiday. “It will be a government holiday only for government servants and schools. It is not a public holiday for private establishments,” he clarified.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was the first to announce holiday on January 22. There, the State has also declared January 22 as a dry day and that the liquor shops will remain closed.
