Honouring freedom fighter Sukhlal Kukunlol

Freedom fighter Sukhlal Fattechand Kukunlol, who worked towards the liberation of Goa, was born on November 7, 1936 in Galnimb village, Srirampur taluka, in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra to Fattechand Kukunlol. His legacy has been preserved and showcased at the Sinquerim-based Aguad Interactive Museum: Goa “ The Land, The Struggle, The People. He studied up to the non-matric level of education. In 1955, Kukunlol, worked towards organising the Congress Seva Dal mainly in the Ahmednagar District  and on August 15, 1955 he participated in the Satyagraha at Goa border. There he was beaten, detained in police custody and pushed across the border the next day. For his contributions towards the freedom struggle, he was honoured with a Sanmanpatra from the Government of Maharashtra. Later he ventured into business.
