Elated with the victory of his candidate in the ZP by-election, Saligao MLA Kedar Naik said he was hopeful to get the chairmanship of some corporation in the days ahead so that he could be of help to people.
“In the coming days, we will be called and something will be worked out. Our people expect some leadership role for me. They want to see me as a chairman of some corporation so that some work can be done for the people,” Naik said.
“It’s finally the party's decision. But I am hopeful,” he added.
Naik who was elected on the Congress ticket from the Saligao constituency quit the party last month and defected to the BJP along with seven others including his mentor and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo.
