Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar on Saturday said hot mixing of the Chogm road between O’Coqueiro Junction to Calangute church has been tendered for Rs 5.5 crore, adding that the road will begin soon.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a well at Vallant“Betim, Salgaonkar also highlighted the water problems faced by people in his Saligao constituency.
“The water requirement of Saligao constituency is 12 MLD, of which 6 MLD is needed for Reis Magos, Nerul and Pilerne. These areas receive water only once in two days.”
“Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently announced that work on the 15 MLD water treatment plant at Porvorim would be completed soon and has directed PWD authorities to release 5 MLD water by March-end.”
“If he releases some portion of this 5 MLD water to Reis Magos, water shortage issues in Reis Magos will be solved to some extent,” said Salgaonkar.
