CANACONA
A 43-year-old native of Hubli-Karnataka died in a self-accident near Bhaireliwada in Canacona on Saturday.
According to Canacona police, a Ford Figo car bearing registration no KA 04 M R 7131 speeding on the service road from Patnem junction (under the MPCBR over-bridge) towards Char-Rasta, suddenly came on Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road (MPCBR), and dashed against a traffic signal pole and fell.
Manjunath Hebseur, 43, the occupant of the car, died in the fatal mishap while driver Akshay Amger, 26 is seriously injured. The duo from Hubli were reportedly working on the Canacona coast and coming from Patnem and were headed to Char-rasta, when the fatal accident occurred, informed the police.
The self-accident took place at about 1.30 pm on Saturday, Canacona police informed.
Police further informed that the body has been moved to the District Hospital Margao and will be handed over after the post-mortem is conducted, and LPSI Rifa Barretto is conducting the investigation further.
