Hubli woman held for theft
MAPUSA: Porvorim Police arrested a woman from Hubli, who is residing at Peddem-Mapusa, on charges of stealing plumbing materials worth about Rs 1.75 lakh at Porvorim.
According to Porvorim Police, Avelino D’Souza of Honey Comb villa, Alto Porvorim, complained that some person had stolen plumbing material like taps, mixers, showers, diverters, stop cork, angle stop cork, electrical wires and electrical plates, all worth about Rs 1.75 lakh.
The complainant further stated that the burglar had entered the newly-constructed bungalows 'Sinai' and 'Oak of Member' situated near Shri Niketan School at Nova Cidade Colony in Porvorim, by breaking the latch of the main door of the bungalow sometime between January 16 and 18.
Police said during the course of investigation, the accused Devi Rathod has been arrested and the stolen property was recovered from her. Police is investigating the case.
