Thousands, if not lakhs of litres of water went waste at Gogol on Thursday noon when the PWD workers were in the process of interconnecting a water pipeline.
The incident occurred when the PWD officials and workers were on the job of interconnecting the main 500 Dia pipeline to a new pipeline laid recently which will supply water to Margao.
Just when the work was about to commence, the water gushed out of the pipeline, into the adjoining stormwater nullah, resembling that the nullah was inundated with water.
It took some time for the officials to plug the leakage and save the water from going to waste.
