After tonnes of water hyacinth weed invaded the Mobor-Cavelossim beach stretch after it was flushed by rain water from the River Sal, the beach cleaning agency has cleared the beach of the stink.
Like previous years, a significant stretch of the Mobor beach belt was invaded by the water hyacinth weed, which was flushed out from the River Sal by the rain water.
Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixon Vaz informed that the panchayat took the responsibility to clean up the area because leadership is about action, not excuses. “For the sake of our environment, our tourism, and the people we proudly represent, we stepped in and ensured all the water hyacinth from the city area that ended up at the Mobor beach was cleared,” he said.
Vaz appreciated the work of the beach cleaning agency and the cooperation extended by the Tourism Department.
