I love Goa’s prawn curry-rice & bebinca: Salman

PANAJI: Bollywood's 'Dabbang' and heartthrob of millions in India and across the globe, Salman Khan, who is in Goa for the launch of Season 12 of Bigg Boss, a reality television game, on Tuesday shared his connect with Goa in a tete-e-tete with 'The Goan'.
“My first memory of Goa is when I was 14 ½ years old along with another friend of mine. My father allowed me to come and experience Goa at my own risk. My mother was not quite happy with the idea. I came here, traveled by ferry overnight from Bhaucha dhakka. I ate something here and fell ill at night and had to leave,” says Salman who enjoys being in Goa “and just do nothing”.
It would be interesting to note that some scenes in Salman's movie Mujhse Shaadi Karoge starring Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, were shot in the State. The actor has also spent family time in Goa during Diwali vacation in 2016.
When asked what brings him to Goa, Salman was quick to state that he loves to be in Goa. “When I am in Goa I just don't want to do anything. The people here are laid back, chill and I just simply love that,” shares Salman who enjoys fish curry rice, prawns curry to be specific, and not to forget the local delicacy 'bebinca'.
He also mentioned about a property that he had bought in Goa long ago and expressed his intention to develop the same.
At the moment he has kept himself free for the next 15 days for the launch and promotions of the forthcoming Season of Bigg Boss-12 which is themed 'vichitra jodis' or unusual couples.
At the launch, the superstar also introduced comedian Bharti Singh and her writer husband Haarsh Limbachiya as one of the jodis of Bigg Boss 12.
Speaking after the grand welcome, Bharti said that she is used to the scolding from her mother-in-law post her marriage, “but when Salman takes off his coat to scream, that terrifies her.”
The event was hosted by RJ Salil Acharya and RJ Archana of Radiocity 91.1. Chief operating officer of Viacom18 Raj Nayak was also present at the launch who unveiled some new names as partners of the show.
Nayak expressed happiness over the huge success of the show which was evident from the fact that they were able to retain their old partners and add on some new ones, with some in the pipeline.
Amongst the other partners present at the event were Nadia Chauhan, Joint Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer - Parle Agro and Abhishek Rege, CEO, Endemol Shine India. Apart from some of the major brands like Panasonic, Oppo and Parle Agro, Board of Cricket Cricket Control is also one of the partners of the Season 12.The grand launch of the show will be premiered on Sunday September 16 on Colors TV channel.
