Ibrampur GS resolves to de-reserve Pernem constituency

 The members of the Pernem Gramsabha have taken a stance, resolving to end the decades-long reservation of the Pernem Constituency for Scheduled Caste (SC) members. Citing injustice towards the general public, the Gramsabha members unanimously agreed that the constituency, which has been reserved for SC individuals for over 45 years, should now be open for general candidates to contest elections.


Additionally, it was resolved to formally forward this resolution to the Chief Election Commissioner, the Goa State Election Commission, the Chief Minister of Goa, the Governor of Goa, the Prime Minister of India, the President of India, the Directorate of Social Welfare, the Mamlatdar of Pernem and other authorities.
